The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. The typical starting dose for asthma is 2.5 to 5.5mcg of Ventolin HFA once or twice daily, preferably at night. The maximum dose is 5.5mcg once per day. The dose may be increased to 5.5mcg twice daily based on your response and your tolerance to the medicine. Do not exceed your prescribed dose. To treat asthma symptoms, your doctor may increase your dose to the maximum recommended dose. It is not known if this medication works if you take it with a heavy, high-fat meal.
